FREE "THE WOODLANDS OR
BUST!" TOUR The tour is free, but advance reservations are required. ANOTHER ROAD TRIP! This tour is all about getting away from the Big City so that we can see beautiful homes, pristine lakes, and quaint historic buildings and, of course, eat and shop. But keep in mind, drivers, that it will be Saturday in The Woodlands and Old Town Spring, so the natives will be out running errands while the tourists are browsing. It might feel a lot like Rice Village or FM 1960 on a Saturday. While you won't find peace and quiet on this trip, these northern neighborhoods ARE very different from the Inner City. Those of you from the 'burbs may not be so impressed. Meet Sandra at Cafe Flores at in the East End at 9 a.m., then carpool north on I-45 to The Woodlands. Our first stop will be at The Woodlands Homefinder Center. We should arrive there at about 10 a.m. Restrooms are available. Alternatively, meet Sandra at The Woodlands Homefinder Center at 10 a.m. After our tour of the Homefinder Center, Sandra will hand out maps and make suggestions about places to visit.
After lunch, we'll carpool a short distance south on I-45 to Old Town Spring, where there are many tempting boutiques and cafes. At about 5 p.m., we'll all gather for a Dutch-treat dinner at, where else, Wunsche's Cafe & Saloon. It is the oldest building in Old Town Spring. Don't miss their chicken fried steak or burgers & fries. After dinner, we'll head south on I-45 arriving back at Cafe Flores at about 7 p.m. |
