TunnelWalk & Rail Tours

These weekday tours feature Main Street Square, MetroRail, and the Downtown Houston Tunnel System, where the weather is always clear and cool and there are more than 100 places to eat. 

Stroll from the Downtown Historic District to JPMorgan Chase Tower, where you'll visit the sky lobby on the 60th floor looking west. 
 
Walk through the Tunnel to Wells Fargo Plaza's sky lobby on the 58th floor looking east. 
 
Continue through the Tunnel to Main Street Square.
 
Ride MetroRail north from Main Street Square to the Preston Street Station.

WHEN

Morning Tour:  9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. -- Includes a stop inside the historic 1929 Chase Bank Building lobby.  Tour ends at Treebeard's restaurant on Market Square.

Afternoon Tour:  1:00 p.m.-3 p.m. -- Includes a stop inside the Visitors Center at City Hall.  Tour ends at Byrd's Market on Main Street.

Evening Tour:  4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. -- Includes a stop inside the Shops at Houston Center, downtown's three-story shopping mall.  Tour ends at Byrd's Market on Main Street.

Fee:  $15/person.  One child (ages 3-12) free with two paying adults.  Children in strollers are always free.  Fee includes MetroRail fare.

Start/End:  All tours start at Discover Houston Tours' office inside the 1880 Scholibo Building at 912 Prairie Street.

Do NOT park at the on-street meters; they allow only 2-hour parking.  Please park in the surface lots between Prairie and Preston on either side of Main Street, at the Market Square Garage, or at a Theater District Garage.
