Your tour begins with a
short ride on MetroRail to the north end of the line at the University of
Houston-Downtown, then back to the Preston Street Station in the Downtown
Historic District. After a rest stop inside the Post Rice Lofts at Main
and Texas, you'll enjoy a westward view from the highest sky lobby in Texas and
a stroll through the Downtown Houston Tunnel System. Along the way, you'll
see historic frescoes at a National Register bank building. The tour ends
at Main Street Square.

2 p.m.-4:30 p.m.. This
TunnelWalk & Rail
Tour features the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Start:
Inside the lobby of the Visitors Center at City Hall.
For more information about the
Visitors Center at City Hall, directions, and parking information, please click
HERE. After learning about the Visitors Center and City Hall,
we'll walk outside to Wells Fargo Plaza, where you'll go up to the sky lobby and
enjoy the view looking east toward Minute Maid Park and Toyota Center.
Next, you'll go down into the Tunnel System and walk west to Reliant Energy Plaza and Main Street Square.
There will a rest stop along the way. Board MetroRail and ride south to the Museum District Station, then walk a few
blocks to the
Houston Museum of Natural Science,
where you'll have a quick tour of the Exhibit Hall. This tour ends at
the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Admission is free after 2
p.m. on Tuesdays; the museum is open until 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Discounted tickets

THURSDAY'S ARTFUL TUNNELWALK & RAIL TOURS
Thursdays,
12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. This TunnelWalk & Rail Tour
includes a quick tour through the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Start:
Discover Houston Tours'
table inside Cafe Express, Beck Building Basement, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
We'll walk underground to the MFAH's Visitors Center, then at
street-level to MetroRail's Museum District Station. We'll exit MetroRail
at
the Main Street Square
Station, where we'll view the fountains in front of Reliant Energy Plaza.
We'll enter the Tunnel and walk north to JP Morgan Chase Tower. Along the
way, you'll see historic frescoes at a National Register bank building.
Restrooms are available. After enjoying a westward view from the
highest sky lobby in Texas, you'll walk outside to the Post Rice Lofts at Main
and Texas. After a rest stop inside the historic 1913 lobby, you'll walk
to MetroRail's Preston Street Station in the Downtown Historic District, where
your guide will point out historic buildings, restaurants, and clubs.
Board MetroRail again for a ride back to the Museum District Station and a quick
tour of the MFAH. Admission to the MFAH is free on Thursdays, and the
museum is open until 9 p.m.

All
itineraries feature a ride on MetroRail, a stroll through the Downtown Houston
Tunnel System, and spectacular view from a sky lobby.

Age/Ability:
These tours are suitable for all ages
and abilities. Children must either be in a stroller or have a responsible
adult with them at all times since we will cross busy streets and ride public
transportation.
Latest lane and street closures downtown. Downtown construction may
affect your arrival time. Please plan accordingly.
